Abstract

Unitary and non-unitary diagonal operators are fundamental building blocks in quantum algorithms, crucial for tasks such as resolving partial differential equations, simulating Hamiltonians, preparing quantum states from classical data (quantum state preparation), and more. In this talk, I will introduce a general approach to implement unitary and non-unitary diagonal operators with efficient-adjustable-depth quantum circuits. Then, I will illustrate how these circuits can be applied to solve the diffusion equation on a quantum computer. Ref. : https://arxiv.org/pdf/2404.02819
